Fighting the fight

March 11, 2006

Sitting here down in Austin, TX thinking about the services from our last two Wednesday nights. Maybe it’s just me or maybe God is trying to get something through our thick skulls (is there a Kindergarden class for spiritual dopes? I might need to enroll). God seems to be ready to do something different among us but if we want it, really want it, it seems we are going to have to fight for it.

The Bible talks about the Kingdom of God suffering violence and that the violent take it by force. If we want to have what we say we want, we are going to have to fight for it, take it, make it happen. What we have to ask ourselves is “How bad do we want it?” Do we want the same old stuff or would we like to see the miraculous? Do we want boring services or do we want services where we have no idea what’s gonna happen? Do we want more? Anointing? Power? Reality? Bible-type stuff.

The cool thing is that it doesn’t have to be unanimous, it doesn’t even have to be most of us (this ain’t no democracy). All we need is one student to get a hold of this and FIGHT for it, fast for it, war in the spirit for it.

And all you have to do is ask yourself “Am I that student?”

Are you?
